We’ve planned some surprises inwith new features you will enjoy at the 2005 Annual Meeting. Meeting organizers have succeeded in bringing recycling toour conference this year, so please, look for recycling receptacles and use them during your stay (see article below).

Debuting Sunday before the conference begins, enjoy a leisurely Trolley Ride around Atlantic City, a new feature of our Annual Meeting (attendees must be pre-registered and the cost is $25).  In the vistas of progress of the new Atlantic City, see the large role Landscape Architects have played in the urban revitalization and cultural renaissance, only just now emerging in full flower. 

Cheer on your favorite team (or athletic turf) while networking with your peers during the Super Bowl Party Sunday night.  Enjoy this event with colleagues and friends on the big screen accompanied by an appetizing assortment of “tailgate” snacks and beverages.

Top it all off at the most formal semi-formal of the year, the NJASLA Design Awards Dinner.  This year we are featuring a local R&B group to lead us into the dinner hour.Awards chair Roy Deboer and Master of Ceremonies Jeff Grob will keep up the pace as they introduce this year’s design awards winners.

“Climate For Change” Meeting begins a Big Year for NJASLA
Please join us for the NJASLA 2005 Annual Meeting and Exhibition, ”Climate for Change” in Atlantic City, New Jersey as we celebrate the success of Landscape Architects and allied professionals in our Garden State and across the Nation.

With our 40th anniversary behind us, NJASLA looks to the future of Landscape Architecture in New Jersey with the 2005 Meeting. It is imperative we continue “growing” our skills in step with a dynamic, evolving professional responsibility as “stewards of the earth”.

This year’s Annual Meeting Committee gathered in an impressive         cast of speakers to provide you with timely, interesting and applicable information vital to your professional development.  Our goal and challenge:  to display, inform, educate, and enhance professional opportunities in the “Climate for Change” we all recognize in today’s world and is aptly expressed in our 2005 educational and social programs.

This year, we feature innovative computer technologies, urban design, cultural landscapes, Green Roof design and New Jersey DEP Focus Sessions, as some of the many informative presentations for you at the meeting.

Landscape Architects Update 2005 Meeting with First Recycling Effort at our Annual Meeting
The American Society of Landscape Architects New Jersey Chapter has consistently hosted a richly educational and informative Annual Meeting and Exhibition In Atlantic City. After 20 years of increasing attendance and success, NJASLA meeting planners have added new features to satisfy participants and more fully express the profession’s commitment to our environment. Behind the scenes this year, NJASLA‘s conference committee forged an alliance with the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, Atlantic City Public Works and the host hotel, the Trump Taj Mahal, to provide recycling during the convention. In a first for NJASLA, receptacles and facilities shall be provided.  As this program develops, NJASLA feels sure that it will encourage other conventioneers, as well as introduce an atmosphere to welcome the proponents of recyclable and sustainable design to future NJASLA events.

Experience Required: 2 to 5 years of experience in design development, construction documentation, specification, planting design, details, and project management. Applicants should posses a strong ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and co-workers.
