Garden Graphics Announces A Date For The Release Of DynaSCAPE For AutoCAD™
Garden Graphics Inc. announces plans to release its latest product offering – DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD™, in January 2005. This product will significantly improve the look of plans produced by landscape designers who use AutoCAD 2005™ and will provide access to a comprehensive online database of plants, and has a built-in quote generating module.

“With DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD, the mechanical look and feel of traditional AutoCAD drawings becomes a thing of the past,” says Everett deJong, Sales and Marketing Manager for Garden Graphics Inc.

“AutoCAD users tell us how much they admire the appearance of DynaSCAPE drawings, and how desirable it would be to generate quotes and take-off’s directly from a plan without having to transfer or re-key information using additional software products.  But, in the past, switching to our 2-D CAD tool - DynaSCAPE, meant abandoning a substantial investment of time and money. It presented the problem of running two different CAD systems for users who service municipal and commercial clients that use AutoCAD exclusively,” deJong explains.

DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD provides access to over 800 symbols that are easily inserted into drawings. This symbol set represents a commonly used collection of trees, shrubs and perennials, architectural and hardscape elements (paving and hatch patterns, ornamental and retaining rocks, buildings and structures), decorative accessories and furnishings, swimming andornamental pools. “We provide designers with almost everything they need, but blocks can be exploded and modified to make custom symbols. Modifying ready-made symbols saves the designer a lot of time when it comes to creating unique landscape elements by providing a fairly advanced starting point,” says deJong.

DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD loads over an existing copy of AutoCAD 2005. This minimizes the number of new tools and operations users need to learn. Hard and softscape labeling ties directly into a database that can be edited with price information, and used to generate pre-formatted quotes and take-offs.  The online database contains more than 4,000 temperate and tropical plants from across North America. DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD also integrates with the full IRIS software package, IRIS Professional™.  IRIS PRO provides powerful business management tools that effectively organize client and supplier information, creates contracts, work orders and purchase orders, tracks employee time-sheets by project and streamlines invoicing. It also performs profit-loss analyses and will print these into customizable reports. The quotation generating module ships with the DynaSCAPE product (under the name IRIS Quotation Edition), but the full IRIS suite is sold for purchased separately.

Introductory pricing for DynaSCAPE for AutoCAD is (US) $1,000, (CDN) $ 1,250; full purchase information can be found on the Garden Graphics website at: www.gardengraphics.com

Garden Graphics Inc. is a full service software development company specializing in the design and business management software for the green industry.

Landscape Architects Update 2005 Meeting with First Recycling Effort at our Annual Meeting
The American Society of Landscape Architects New Jersey Chapter has consistently hosted a richly educational and informative Annual Meeting and Exhibition In Atlantic City. After 20 years of increasing attendance and success, NJASLA meeting planners have added new features to satisfy participants and more fully express the profession’s commitment to our environment. Behind the scenes this year, NJASLA‘s conference committee forged an alliance with the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, Atlantic City Public Works and the host hotel, the Trump Taj Mahal, to provide recycling during the convention. In a first for NJASLA, receptacles and facilities shall be provided.  As this program develops, NJASLA feels sure that it will encourage other conventioneers, as well as introduce an atmosphere to welcome the proponents of recyclable and sustainable design to future NJASLA events.

Our new Vice President Myriah McMahan of Forrest Associates Ltd, Atlantic City spearheaded this effort and deserves a big THANK YOU.
